Drop Coverage for the Winter??
This is a question that I am sure many riders consider as they park their bike in the garage for the winter. It sounds reasonable that someone wouldnt want to pay for coverage for 4-5 months, however this could be a costly assumption for a few reasons:
- There is absolutely NO COVERAGE for your cycle under your homeowners policy even if it is parked in your garage. Theft and fire are still real risks to your ride.
- If we get a nice 75 degree day in the winter and you decide to head out for a ride, you want to be sure your policy is active
- You will pay more when you go to buy another policy in the spring with having a lapse in coverage.
- Your company may report your cancellation to your state department of motor vehicles who will then start proceedings to suspend your registration unless you can provide new proof of insurance.
